Frequently asked questions

What’s the deal with the coupon on your business card sticker?

If you were lucky enough to get one of these, it’s good for custom tattoos above $200, at the normal $200 hourly rate. This cannot be applied to discounted tattoos, flat rate pieces or deposits, and cannot be combined with other deals. Each client may only use this discount once.

How far out are you booked?

On average, I book about three weeks out, a little longer if you need a weekend. This wait can sometimes be longer during tax season, or shorter in winter. I usually share last minute openings in my Instagram stories.

What is your Hourly rate?

I currently charge $200 an hour, with a one hour minimum. Deposits are also $200, and come off the price of your last session.

You are not charged for the time it takes me to draw your design. It sometimes takes me as long to draw your design as it does to tattoo it, and this is done at home, on my own time.

I usually take one ten-ish minute break per hour, and the clock stops for this break. Additional breaks requested by the customer, the clock keeps running.

Sometimes I will do deals on predawn designs or for someone who fills a slot on short notice. keep an eye on my Instagram stories to nab these deals!

How Do I book With you?

I no longer do in person consultations unless we’re doing a complicated cover up or something I otherwise need to see in person before your design. My Preferred booking method is through Instagram, it’s just easier for me to refer back to the conversation before I start your drawing. you can also email me at krampusssytattoo@gmail.com, or through the booking link on this site. Please allow 3-4 days for a response.

When messaging me, please include:

*your idea

*reference photos

*size of the tattoo and area of the body to be tattooed

*Your budget

A $200 non refundable deposit is required to book. (See below for the details about deposits.)

How Does the deposit work?

Here’s all that scary small text. The good news is, I hold myself to the same deposit policy I hold my customers to. The deposit is our agreement to each other that we will both show up on time, clean, sober and ready to tattoo.

A $200 non refundable minimum deposit is required for all appointments. This holds your appointment spot and will be deducted from the final sitting of your tattoo. If you do not finish your tattoo, your deposit will not be applied to your tattoo. No research, sketching or drawing will be done, and no appointments will be set until the deposit is paid.

Deposits are non refundable and cannot be transferred to a different artist, different design, different service, or different client. Your deposit cannot be redeemed for clothing, merchandise, artwork, stickers, prints, etc.

If you arrive more than 20 minutes late, or you are not sober, you may forfeit your deposit. If you think you will be late, please message me and let me know.

Please review my work and decide whether or not I will be able to implement your idea to your satisfaction. You’ll have to have a little bit of trust in me because I do not draw for your appointment until the night before or the morning of. This means you will not be able to preview your design before the appointment, so please mention important specifics when messaging about the design. All designs are considered property of the artist.

I do my absolute best to incorporate your ideas and preferences into your design, in a way that will fit the flow of the body and last the test of time.

Creating a tattoo design based on a client’s concept is subjective, and variations may exist between your concept and the finished design. If the finished design is not to your liking, minor changes will be made at the artist’s discretion. Substantial changes to the design or idea will require a new deposit and the original deposit will be forfeited as payment for the artist’s drawing time. Changes to the design may result in changes to the price.

If you need to reschedule, I ask for 48 hours notice, or you may lose your deposit. This gives me a short amount of time to try and fill your spot. I will move your appointment ONCE, with at least 48 hours notice. A second reschedule will require another deposit. Habitual reschedules may be subject to higher deposit prices, regardless of notice.

Please be aware that rescheduling will shift your appointment to the next available spot, which may be anywhere from 2 weeks to 3 months out, depending on my availability.

If you no call no show, you will be required to pay for your tattoo in full before scheduling another appointment.

If you do not schedule a new appointment within 3 months of cancellation, you lose your deposit.

How can I be Prepared for my tattoo?

Please shower before your appointment and make sure to dress so that the area getting tattooed is easily accessible. Wear clothing you don’t care about because I will probably get ink on that shit.

Get a good night’s sleep the night before, show up well fed and hydrated. Do not arrive sunburned or under the influence of drugs or alcohol (these can heighten the pain). You are welcome to bring headphones, a pillow, a blanket, snacks, a book and/or one friend. Please do not bring children.

Cash is my preferred method of payment, but I can take PayPal (friends and family, unless you want to pay a fee), Venmo or Cashapp.

This is a safe space, so please be respectful of anyone who may be showing excess skin. Disrespectful comments will get you booted from the studio.

Do you recommend numbing creams?

This has nothing to do with “you have to earn it” or anything like that. I will never make fun of someone for how long they can or cannot sit for a tattoo. The truth is, the cream can and does work for a period of time for some people. That being said, lidocaine and any product meant to change or limit the pain on the surface of your skin will also change how that skin will react to trauma. Our bodies and brains are built to have a response system to pain. Our endorphins take hold after the first few minutes and will naturally do their best to help with the pain.

What most people don't consider is how that changes the artists job. The truth is these numbing creams absolutely change how your skin takes to a tattoo. It tightens the pores in a manner that makes it a lot tougher to get ink into the skin. In turn, that can cause way more trauma than necessary, and also increases the chances that your tattoo will fade quicker, or won't heal correctly at all.

At this point, it's been proven time and time again by far more artists than just I, and it's becoming a bit of an argumentative issue between artists and clients. Apart from that, you also have a lot of "fly by night" companies making all kinds of numbing agents of their own, with formulas that are only tested in a very small group of people. Some artists are also ordering their products from outside of the US in order to get a higher lidocaine content than we are legally allowed to use in the US. In hospitals here, if an ointment has too high of a lidocaine content, it would require your artist to have an anesthesiologists license in order for them to apply it to your body. The way that that law is circumvented is by having the client apply the cream.

For these reasons, I do not recommend numbing creams. If you use them, I cannot guarantee how your finished tattoo will heal, and touch-ups will not be free.

I do use Bactine on the breaks, which has 4% lidocane.

Can I see my design before I get tattooed?

I typically draw the night before your appointment or the morning of. So, no, you won’t see a preview of your design before your appointment. So please be sure of what you want and mention any important specifics when messaging me about your design.

Do you do cover ups?

Yes, I absolutely do! I can cover scars and old tattoos. And cover ups don’t have top be an ugly black mess! Send me a photo of what you’re trying to cover and your ideas for what you’d like to cover it with, or just send the photos and I can help you come up with a design.

Do you Take COmmissions?

When I have the time, absolutely! feel free to email me with your ideas!

Do you ever travel?

At the current time, I have no travel plans, though when/if I do, they will be announced on instagram. I would estimate that 60% of my clients are from out of state. If you are planning on traveling to see me, please plan your tattoo for the end of your trip so you are not worrying about healing a fresh tattoo on your vacation to Colorado.

Do you ever offer apprenticeships?

Heh, no.

You live too far away. Can I have my local guy tattoo your art?

Also no.
